Shariah-Compliant: a verified flag
Shariah-Compliant is an orthogonal flag that can apply across many sectors on SoukRaise. It records that a structure has been certified consistent with Islamic finance principles. On SoukRaise it is a verified, time-bound claim, never a self-declared tag.
What the flag means
Shariah-Compliant indicates that a structure has been certified as consistent with Islamic finance principles by a qualified body. Unlike the sector and strategic themes, it is an orthogonal flag: it can apply across many different sectors and activities. The flag speaks to the compliance of the structure itself, and it is not a merit judgement, a quality mark, or a view on prospects or returns.
The flag is descriptive and neutral. It helps an investor who requires Shariah compliance to orient accordingly. It expresses no opinion about the underlying business beyond the fact of certification.
How it is verified, not self-declared
A Shariah-compliant flag is only as good as the certification behind it, and certifications have a life span. On SoukRaise the flag renders only after the issuer asserts it, diligence evidences it, and compliance verifies it. The specific evidence that earns Shariah-Compliant is a certification artefact issued by the appointed Shariah supervisory board. Importantly, the flag expires when that certificate expires, and does not persist beyond it.
Where no valid certificate exists, or the certificate has lapsed, the flag does not render. There is no self-declared badge and no indefinite state. This is verified themes rather than self-declared tags, applied to a time-bound certification.
